Meanwhile, he is now ready to say goodbye to international football after this last game of his career, but in a specially designed jersey.

Messi has revealed the special Argentina shirt he will wear in his final appearance for the national team. The 39-year-old shared a short video on social media showing the custom Adidas jersey, which features a sky-blue base with a single vertical white stripe, gold lettering for “MESSI” and the number 10 on the back, and distinctive detailing, shaded Sun of May.

“One last match… A jersey for a lifetime.”
The shirt will be worn when Argentina face Benin in a friendly at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires on 6 October 2026. The match has been arranged as Messi’s official farewell after he announced his retirement from international football following Argentina’s run to the 2026 World Cup final.
Meanwhile, the FC Barcelona legend, who currently plays for Inter Miami, leaves the side as the most decorated player, having scored 125 goals, including 21 at the World Cup. Among thousands of awards, some of his notable achievements also include a World Cup trophy, two Copa América titles, an Olympic Gold medal, and eight Ballon d’Ors.
