Gabriel Martinelli has revealed that he texted Liverpool’s Conor Bradley after the heated exchange that caused the Reds’ right back an injury. The Arsenal star was booked by referee Anthony Taylor following the stoppage-time flashpoint for his actions. He also received backlash from the fans on social media, which made him message the Liverpool player.

Martinelli took over his Instagram account acknowledge the fans that he has apologised for his controversial action. The Arsenal forward, on the social media platform, revealed: 

"Conor and I have messaged and I have already apologised to him.” 

Martinelli continued: 

"I really didn't understand he was seriously injured in the heat of the moment.” 

The 24-year-old player further stated: 

Martinelli also revealed that he was 'deeply sorry' and sent the player a good luck for 'a quick recovery.'

Martinelli and Bradley were involved in a controversial exchange when the Liverpool player went down next to the sideline with a knee injury during the high-profile Premier League clash between the two sides at the Emirates Stadium. 

Martinelli was captured dropping the ball on Bradley, whom he appeared to believe was attempting to waste time while the Gunners aimed for a late winning goal. The Arsenal star then attempted to shove him off the pitch. 

Following this, Bradley went down in agony and clutched his left knee as he hit the deck before he received treatment and was then stretchered off with his hands covering his face. Meanwhile, the match ended in a goalless draw with Mikel Arteta’s side failing to capitalize on the chance to stretch their lead in the EPL clash.
