Bayern Munich began their Champions League Group A journey with a heart-stopping 4-3 win over Manchester United on September 20. The European giants, despite some late defensive hiccups, extended their unbeaten home record in the group stages to an impressive 28 matches.

Bayern's dominance was evident from the start. Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry found the net in the 28th and 32nd minutes. Manchester United, already grappling with injuries and back-to-back losses, clawed back post-half-time with Rasmus Hojlund's 49th-minute goal, courtesy of a deflection.

But the drama didn't end there. A handball by Christian Eriksen led to Harry Kane's penalty, widening Bayern's lead. The match's climax saw a goal rush, with United's Casemiro scoring twice and Bayern's Mathys Tel adding another. Both Sane and Thomas Mueller narrowly missed, striking the post.

Manchester United's woes continue. Their defence has now leaked three or more goals in three successive matches, a low not seen since December 1978. Their early promise, marked by a Christian Eriksen attempt, was marred by goalkeeper Andre Onana's error, gifting Bayern their first goal.

Meanwhile, in Group C, Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham became the talk of the town. His last-gasp goal against Union Berlin at Santiago Bernabeu ensured a 1-0 victory for the Spanish giants. This 94th-minute stunner by Bellingham, his sixth in as many matches, kept Real Madrid's flawless winning streak alive.

Arsenal, after a six-year hiatus from the Champions League, made a statement at the Emirates Stadium, trouncing PSV Eindhoven 4-0. The Gunners' attacking prowess was on full display with goals from Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, and Martin Odegaard. Saka set the evening's tempo, capitalising on a mistake by PSV's Walter Benitez. Jesus missed an early chance but later found the net, courtesy of a brilliant Trossard assist.
