Manchester City were crowned the champions of Europe after they beat Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, on Saturday (June 10) night. Considered one of the biggest football games of the year, the Champions League final has many fans, including some of the biggest names in world cricket.

Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers also saw the match but was not happy with the commentators, calling them 'incredibly irritating'.

"I’ve never played an official game of football(soccer) before. I have however played some very competitive social games and absolutely love the game," he shared on Twitter.

"Watching this Champs League (Champions League) final it’s been incredibly irritating that the commentators, from the start have been claiming that Inter has had the upper hand?! And not just claiming, they keep going on about it. I love Sport and it’s super clear that it’s not the case. Inter literally just had their first shot on target from Lukaku off the bench halfway through the 2nd half. There has been, and currently is only one team on the pitch. Bearing in mind it’s a final and was always gonna be scratchy," said the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) legend.

He also said that he was a fan of Manchester City's biggest rivals Manchester United, and he loves calling out the fallacies in a sport, "And PS. i’m a Man U supporter. I just enjoy Sport being called out accurately and for what it is. Just my 5 cents for the night.

On a lighter note, de Villiers was also looking for the French Open final between Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud, which will take place on Sunday, June 11, "Tomorrow some intriguing Tennis."

Meanwhile, Manchester City survived a late barrage in the final minutes to create history and seal their first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy with Rodri scoring the only goal against Inter at the Atatruk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on Saturday (June 10) night. In doing so, they also become the second English team to complete a European Treble after Manchester United in 1999.

The win also means that Pep Guardiola becomes just the second manager to win the treble, having achieved the same feat with Barcelona in the 2008-09 season.
