Jean Alesi slammed Lewis Hamilton's negative attitude, saying it demoralizes those around him and contrasting it with legends like Senna and Schumacher.

Toto Wolff defended Hamilton, describing him as emotionally transparent and reaffirming his status as the GOAT despite recent struggles.

Lewis Hamilton has started to face harsh criticism, as Ferrari icon Jean Alesi has slammed the racer's attitude, saying that it demoralized everyone around him. Alesi has been one of the legendary figures who played a crucial part in Ferrari's success, first as a racer and then having close ties after his retirement.

Alesi's criticism of Hamilton came after multiple media statements by the F1 legend that have seemingly not gone down well with him. The British racer surprised everyone last season when he revealed that he was leaving Mercedes for Ferrari at the end of the season.

The partnership was supposed to be the next big thing, where the most successful team in F1 history partnered with the most successful driver. The 14 races have been anything but that.

In the first half of the season, Lewis Hamilton was outclassed by his teammate Charles Leclerc. Other than the race in Silverstone, there has not been one where the racer performed better than his young teammate.

In Hungary, Lewis Hamilton faced elimination in Q2, on the other hand his teammate Charles Leclerc secured pole position. Disappointed with his performance, the racer claimed that Ferrari should fire him.

This statement was not received positively by Jean Alesi, who lambasted the driver for being negative. In his column, Alesi said that Michael Schumacher or Ayrton Senna would have never been like this. He said:

"I think Hamilton's attitude demoralizes those who work around him. Senna or Schumacher would never have said things like that."

Lewis Hamilton receives support from Toto Wolff

The former champion received support from his former boss, Toto Wolff. who said that it was just a blowout in front of the media. Revealing how the racer could get emotionally transparent at times.

"No, it was Lewis wearing his heart on his sleeve. It's very much what he felt when he was asked after the session, he was very raw, he doubted himself, and we've had it in the past, that when he felt he had underperformed his own expectations, he's been emotional."

He added:

"He's emotionally transparent since he was a young boy and adult, so he is going to beat himself up. He is the GOAT, and he will always be the GOAT, and nobody is going to take that away, and for sure not a single weekend or race season that has not gone to plan."

After a disappointing weekend, the British racer has gone into the summer break where his teammate was better than him. It will be interesting to see how Lewis Hamilton comes back from this.
