Liam Lawson has finally broken the silence following his controversial sacking from Red Bull and demotion to Racing Bulls. The Kiwi driver took to Instagram to address the whole situation. Lawson was promoted to Red Bull senior team for the 2025 Formula One season, but his stay at the center stage was short-lived as Red Bull ran out of patience with him following his below-par performance in the Australian and Chinese Grand Prix. Yuki Tsunoda has been picked as the replacement for Lawson.

In his emotional post, Lawson highlighted how representing Red Bull was a dream come true.

He wrote: “Being a Red Bull driver has been my dream since I was a kid, it’s what I’ve worked towards my whole life. It’s tough, but I’m grateful for everything that’s brought me to this point. To every one of you who’s stood by me, thank you for all the support it means the world.”

His words echoed the disappointment many fans felt, especially given the seemingly abrupt nature of his dismissal.

Lawson’s struggles during the first two races of the 2025 season – crashing out in Australia and finishing 12th in China – were cited as reasons for the change, but many have criticised the decision as premature.

Despite the setback, Lawson maintained a positive outlook as he shifted his focus to his new team. He went on to thank Racing Bulls for their support, saying: “Thank you Racing Bulls for the warm welcome, I’m excited and ready to go to work at one of my favourite places.”

Lawson's post coincides with his forthcoming race at the Japanese Grand Prix, where he previously competed as a young racer in front of enthusiastic Japanese fans.
