Haas driver Ollie Bearman made his first public appearance since he got involved in a massive car crash at the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix. The British racer was seen limping at a metro station in Japan.

How did the car crash happen?

The car crash took place during the 21st lap, as the Haas racer failed to control his vehicle after  taking evasive action. Following touching the grass to avoid contact with Alpine's Franco Colapinto, the Briton lost control and got hit by a barrier.

After the crash, Bearman was taken to the medical center, and got approval after conducting necessary tests. It was reported that the Haas driver suffered a right knee contusion and fortunately avoided major injuries.

The recent video clip shows that the Haas driver is still limping, as the impact of the massive car crash has not completely gone yet.

 

Ollie Bearman's breakout 2026 F1 season

Before his massive crash, the Haas driver was going through a fine start to the ongoing F1 season, as he completed his two full races and came out as an ideal contender for the midfield, amassing 17 points in the first three rounds.

He performed with a great consistency as compared to his experienced teammate, Esteban Ocon. In the Australian Grand Prix, Bearman clinched a P7 finish after starting the race from P12. In the Chinese Grand Prix, the Briton secured his career-best P5 finish after starting the race from P11.

With 17 points, Bearman sits at 7th place in the Drivers' Championship standings, ahead of the experienced racers like Max Verstappen (9th) and Carlos Sainz (14th).
