The day of August 2 in the Paris Olympics 2024 was quite historic for India. In shooting, Manu Bhakar made it to the finals for the third medal. After this, the Indian hockey team defeated Australia in the Olympics after 52 years, while in the end Lakshya Sen created history by making it to the semi-finals of badminton.
Manu Bhaker eyes historic
Manu Bhaker, who won a bronze medal in the 10-meter air pistol and 10-meter air pistol mixed event, has now moved towards her third medal. Manu qualified for the final of the 25m women's pistol event. However, another Indian contender Isha Singh was eliminated from the competition.
Anantjit Singh on the verge of being out of men's skeet
On the first day of men's skeet qualification, in three series of 25-25 marks, Ananthjeet scored a total of 68 points with 23, 22, and 23 marks. Two series of the qualification round will now be held on Saturday after which the top six shooters will make it to the finals. However, Ananthjeet's chances of qualifying for the finals by making it to the top six are very slim.
India hockey beat Australia after 52 years
The Indian hockey team last won against Australia in the 1972 Olympics. After which now in 2024, the Indian hockey team defeated Australia 3-2. In this match for India, two goals were scored by their captain Harmanpreet Singh while one goal was scored by Abhishek. Now the Indian hockey team will face either Great Britain or Germany in the quarterfinals.

Indian archers miss Bronze
India's mixed team of Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat missed a medal in archery on Friday. They were defeated 6-2 by the American pair of Cassie Kaufhold and Brady Ellison in the bronze medal match.
India out of Judo
Indian judo player Tulika Mann crashed out in the first round of the women's over 78kg event with a defeat against London Olympics champion Idelis Ortiz of Cuba. Tulika had to face 0-10 ippon defeat against the Cuban player. Tulika was the only player to represent India in this event at the Paris Games.
Balraj stood 23rd in Rowing
Indian rower Balraj Panwar ended his campaign with a 23rd place finish in the men's single sculls event at the Paris Olympic Games after finishing fifth in Final D. 25-year-old Balraj from Haryana clocked 7 minutes 2.37 seconds in Final D, which is his best performance in the current Games. It was not a medal round though.
Subhankar is joint 25th and Bhullar is joint 52nd in Golf
Indian golfer Shubhankar Sharma played a card of two under 69 with two eagles in the second round of the Paris Olympics, due to which he remains in joint 25th position. Another Indian, Gaganjit Bhullar, carded a two-under 69 and bettered his first-round score of 75, leaving him tied for 52nd.
Ankita and Parul disappoint
India's Ankita and Parul Chaudhary could not qualify for the finals by finishing 20th and 14th in the women's 5000-meter race in the athletics event of the Paris Olympics.
Tajinderpal Singh Toor's Olympic dream shattered
Indian shot-put athlete Tajinderpal Singh Toor has been ruled out of the Paris Olympics 2024 in the men's shot put qualification event. The two-time Asian Games gold medalist and Asian champion could throw only 18.05 meters and was out of the first round. Due to this India got a big shock.
Lakshay Sen creates history
Lakshya Sen has kept alive the hopes of the only medal in the 7-member badminton team. Lakshya Sen defeated Chu Tin Chen of Chinese Taipei 19-21, 21-15, 21-12 in a thrilling match in the quarterfinals of Men's Singles. With this, Lakshya Sen also became the first shuttler for India to play in the semi-finals of the men's singles event in the Olympics. Before him, no Indian male shuttler had been able to reach this milestone.
