Eddie Hearn is of the opinion that if Jake Paul were to defeat Mike Tyson, it would be a travesty for boxing in the eyes of all true fans. YouTuber-turned-fighter Paul faces heavyweight extraordinary Tyson on November 15 in a conflict that has drawn in enormous contention over the monstrous age hole. When Tyson was forced to cancel the first date on July 20 due to an ulcer flare-up in his stomach, more outrage ensued. Be that as it may, coordinators - including streaming stage Netflix - chose to disregard reschedule the session.
As Netflix begins its first venture into live boxing, Paul and Tyson are expected to split a sizable cash pot worth $80 million (£60 million). Therefore, even though the fight will be watched by millions of people for the ages, promoter Hearn is concerned that it will harm boxing's reputation.

"I don’t think there’s one boxing person that really wants this fight to happen. So they’re looking at it from a different angle, they’re looking at it from numbers, they’re looking to it for hype and I get it. I understand that this freak show may well do good numbers. But, I think if you genuinely care about the sport and the history of the sport and particularly the legacy of one of the greatest fighters of all time, it’s not something you’d ever consider. But, I understand their strategy and the business and if it does numbers, they don’t really care how it looks in terms of the empathy of it. I don’t think it’s ever something you’d see a real boxing person get involved with," Hearn told SunSport.
Tyson retired from boxing in 2005 off the rear of two horrendous losses and long difficult situations outside the ring. But by 2020, he had made a comeback and went back to fight Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout that was just a glorified sparring session. That won't be the situation - so we're told - this time around as he gets ready to battle Paul in an expertly endorsed session. Both will be tested for drugs, but Tyson will need more brain and heart tests because of his age. Paul's record is 10-1, with the only setback being a 2023 points loss to Tommy Fury, the 25-year-old brother of Tyson. He also intends to disregard Tyson's admiration and love, something that Hearn and every other fan dreads.
“It’s just a different world, isn’t it? This new generation. But good luck to him, I’m sure it will do good numbers and hopefully Mike Tyson doesn’t get hurt because it would be a travesty for boxing,” he said.
