A major highly anticipated John Cena match has reportedly been confirmed for WWE’s WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, Nevada, marking a significant moment in the upcoming event. As Cena prepares to kick off his final year as an active competitor on WWE's Monday Night Raw on January 6, fans are eager to learn about the plans WWE has in store for the 16-time world champion on the road to WrestleMania.

On December 27, it was initially reported that WWE was considering a match between Cena and the current Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, for WrestleMania 41. Fast forward to this week, and there’s an update on the match’s status. Dave Meltzer, in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, has confirmed that Cena vs. Rhodes is now "scheduled" for the event.

According to Meltzer, “Cena vs. Rhodes is right now scheduled,” meaning the previously speculated match between Rhodes and The Rock is no longer in the works. This change in plans has fueled speculation on what direction WWE will ultimately take for its biggest annual event.

Rock's Status Still a Key Factor

Despite the confirmed match between Cena and Rhodes, WWE's creative direction remains fluid, as the status of The Rock still looms large. Meltzer pointed out that WWE will adjust its plans according to whatever The Rock decides to do at WrestleMania. There is still a “belief” backstage that The Rock, also known as The Final Boss, will make an appearance at the event in some form. His involvement, however, has not been officially confirmed yet.

 Cena's Path to History

As the match against Cody Rhodes looms, Cena is also on the verge of making WWE history. With 16 world championship reigns, Cena is currently tied with Ric Flair for the most title wins in WWE history. However, Cena is just one win away from breaking this record and achieving an unparalleled feat in the company.

Ongoing Updates on WWE’s WrestleMania Plans

As WWE heads toward WrestleMania 41, fans can expect more updates on the creative direction of the event. The developments surrounding John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and The Rock will likely be key storylines leading up to the grand spectacle. Stay tuned for additional information as it becomes available.
