A UFC icon recently shared his response to the much talked about Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall fight, a clash that is considered one of the biggest fights in the promotion's history. With both the fighters being equally dominant, the fight has become one of the most anticipated ones in UFC history. Even though the president, Dana White, has confirmed that Jones vs. Aspinall is on the cards for 2025, there is still no official confirmation on this bout.

Jones, who has long been hailed as one of the greatest pound-for-pound MMA fighters in the world, has yet to lose a fight in the UFC through a conventional method and is one of the only fighters in the world to win the world title in two weight categories. In contrast, the English MMA icon Aspinall has been equally terrific in the octagon with a record of 15-3-0. He is also considered one of the first fighters who can break Jones' undefeated streak and hand him the first defeat of his career. With that being said, let's have a look at what Jones and Aspinall's contemporary thinks about their fight.

Is Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall fight worth the hype?

The UFC fighter in question is the reigning middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis, who voiced his thoughts on this fight and shared his honest take on whether the Jones vs. Aspinall fight should happen. Du Plessis mentioned that he doesn't want to see Jones vs. Aspinall happen as he doesn't want to see either of the fighters lose.

"You have Jones who is definitely at the end of his career. What's he, 38 years old? I don't need to see this because he's never been beaten. So I don't need to see Jon Jones fight Aspinall because I don't want either one of them to lose. I want Jon Jones to retire unbeaten. Of course he had that DQ for 12-6 which is now legal but unbeaten and the legend that he is," Du Plessis said.

"Aspinall wants it and one of them has to lose that fight. And that's the one thing, you look at it and you go Aspinall's probably going to win. But then if you ask me that, I say no, no, no," he added.

Dricus Du Plessis also added that even though everyone thinks that Aspinall is going to win that fight, Jones can make any fight look easy and hailed Bones as the greatest fighter of all time.
