The last year of John Cena in WWE is fast becoming an emotional yet engaging ride.

Ric Flair, a WWE Hall of Famer, recently made it known that he wished John Cena were to win the Royal Rumble 2025 match. At this moment, both wrestling legends stand with 16 World Championship wins apiece, Cena having declared his retirement from ever engaging again in active competition by the end of 2025. Flair viewed the Royal Rumble as the last possible finale for Cena to embellish his work with yet another good feather in his cap.

And of Course, Cena's Final Run Declined
John Cena entered The Royal Rumble 2025 as a major favorite, with many seeing him winning the Rumble to take on Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. However, 47-year-old Cena was only the runner-up after being tossed by Jey Uso, the winner.

Besides the loss, the Rumble served as a reminder of Cena's undying persona who could pull the crowd, even now standing on the porch of his wrestling career.  Flair Mosque on Cena's Loss

Ric Flair expressed why he supported Cena to win on an episode of Gabby AF. “I was really pulling for John because they would have been talking about me on TV for the next three months!” said Flair while chuckling over the shared record of 16 World Championship wins with Cena.

Flair obviously expressed his disappointment that Cena had lost, but he went on to laud Jey Uso and his brother Jimmy for being quite athletic. "Jey's great. The Usos are phenomenal performers, individually and as a team. They're big kids, and people don't realize it. They're 230, 240 lbs; they are not little guys. They can do all the stuff Rey Mysterio can do," Flair said.
