UFC CEO Dana White is set to announce a big-money fight soon and there are reasons that support that the teased contest will include UFC Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev. Although White hasn't taken a name yet Islam's reaction to the statement made by the UFC boss brings him to the forefront.

Dana White to Announce a Big Fight
Islam Makhachev once again proved why he is the undisputed Lightweight king at UFC 312. The fighter brutally defeated Renato Moicano, who took the fight on a one-day notice following the injury withdrawal of Arman Tsarukyan. Makhachev's win impressed Dana White so much that he was forced to admit that the Russian is indeed the Pound-for-Pound No.1 fighter. Makhachev's dominance has only led the fans to question whether there is anyone who could challenge him.
The search to find the right match for Makhachev has compelled the fans to take the name of the current UFC Featherweight Champion Ilia Topuria. The Spaniard has been undefeated in his MMA career and thus knowers of the game believe that he could be the one who could end Islam's unreal dominance as the Lightweight champion.
Regardless of who ends up standing across from him on fight night, it looks like Makhachev’s next trip to the octagon is going to be a big one, with the grappler responding to Dana White claiming ‘something special’ is around the corner.
In an interview with Match TV, he enthused: “I can’t announce it yet, but there is an offer that we need to sit down with the team and think about because there are options.”
Thus, it will be intriguing to see what Dana White has in mind. Is the "something special" is related to Islam Makhachev or the UFC boss is referring to a potential fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall, the other fight which could cause a frenzy among fans? All to look forward to.
