The biggest clash of the US Open 2025 between Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic turned out to be a one-sided affair, despite all the hype. The clash, played at Arthur Ashe Stadium, saw Spain’s Alcaraz, seeded second, deliver a masterclass to defeat 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic in straight sets: 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-2.
With this win, the 22-year-old Alcaraz stormed into the US Open final without dropping a single set in the tournament. His combination of powerful backhands and clinical winners proved too much for the 38-year-old Djokovic, who had looked in strong form until this point.
Alcaraz will now face world No. 1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner in a much-anticipated final, which will be a rematch of this year’s Wimbledon final, which Sinner had won. Alcaraz will look to take revenge in the upcoming final.
Alcaraz’s Perfect Run Continues
Alcaraz has been unstoppable in New York. He's yet to lose a set in any of his six matches so far and looked in complete control against Djokovic, a player with more experience and more titles, but no answers today. His energy, shot-making, and mental strength have been on full display throughout the tournament.
Sinner Powers Past Felix to Reach Second Straight US Open Final
In the second semi-final, top seed Jannik Sinner took on Canada’s 25th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime. It wasn’t all smooth sailing, but Sinner managed to get through in four sets: 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Felix gave a tough fight after dropping the first set, but couldn’t maintain the momentum as Sinner’s strong backhand and steady baseline play helped him take control.
The 24-year-old Italian is now one win away from defending his US Open title and claiming his third Grand Slam title of 2025 — having already won the Australian Open and Wimbledon earlier this year. Sinner and Alcaraz will now meet in a Grand Slam final for the third time.
