Novak Djokovic has something to say about the complaints made by Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz on the tennis calendar. The Serb believes that the top players, complaining to the media, wouldn't do anything, but instead, the players need to come forward and go beyond just complaining.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion has stated that he also tried and opposed the extension of the ATP 1000 events to change the busy tennis schedule but it did nothing. Djokovic, during a recent media appearance, told the reporters:

“Complaining to media doesn’t change anything. Top players need to invest and energy to change the state of system.”

The tennis icon further continued:

“I tried to do it but couldn’t. It’s complex.”

While agreeing to the busy schedule, Djokovic also advised that since tennis is an “individual sport, there are choices to be made." The former World No. 1 expressed that he doesn't want to sound as if he is “supportive or not supportive” about the topic since “there's different elements that you have to take in consideration.”

It comes after Polish star, Swiatek labelled the tennis schedule as “crazy” and stated that “we play too much”. The No.2 WTA player complained about the insanity of how the players are expected to take part in several tournaments. She later got support of Alcaraz when the sensational Spaniard labelled the schedule as “really tight.”

The World No. 1, replying to Swiatek's complaint, had said that the players are “not allowed to have a choice” and there are several rules that the players “have to follow.”
