The second seeds quickly established their dominance in the opening set, securing a double break to take a commanding 5-1 lead. Heliovaara then served out the set at love, sealing it with an overhead smash. Bopanna and Pavlasek started the second set strongly, with Bopanna holding his serve flawlessly. Patten also began to find his rhythm, delivering powerful and precisely angled serves. An opportunity arose for Bopanna and Pavlasek in the sixth game when Patten double-faulted and went down 0-30, but the Briton recovered by winning four consecutive points, averting the break. The second set ultimately went to a tie-breaker, where Heliovaara delivered a stunning service return winner on the first match point, securing the victory for the second seeds.

In other matches, Yuki Bhambri is scheduled to play his third-round match with American partner Robert Galloway. They will face the ninth-seeded American pair of Christian Harrison and Evan King. Meanwhile, in the Junior Championship, India's promising talent Manas Dhamne was knocked out after losing 5-7, 3-6 to fellow American qualifier Ronit Karki. The 17-year-old Dhamne, who had entered the main draw as a qualifier, was unable to perform at his best on Sunday.
