It's official now and no longer a rumor! Tennis legend Serena Williams is set to return to competitive action after nearly four years away, entering the doubles draw as a wildcard at the 2026 HSBC Championships at Queen’s Club.

Serena Williams announces comeback to professional tennis at HSBC Championships 

The 44-year-old 23-time Grand Slam singles champion last competed at the 2022 US Open. On Monday, the tournament confirmed her participation in the grass-court WTA 500 event, scheduled for June 8-14. 

The event serves as a key Wimbledon warm-up. While her doubles partner has not been officially confirmed, reports suggest she may team up with rising Canadian star Victoria Mboko. 

Williams, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time with 23 Grand Slam singles titles and multiple doubles majors, has spent the past years focusing on family and business ventures. Her return has sparked massive excitement across the tennis world, with fans and analysts hailing it as a historic moment.
