Djokovic was forced to be ruled out of the practice session as the tennis star was taking on Daniil Medvedev on Wednesday. This came just a week ahead of the first Grand Slam of the year. The Serbian survived only 12 minutes before he had to step away and require heavy treatment on his neck from his trainer, as per Mirror.

The 38-year-old is playing his first tournament since winning the Hellenic Championship on November 8 last year. He was also sidelined from the Adelaide International. Following this, the tennis legend had stated that the Melbourne major is his priority as he looked forward to arriving in Australia.

Meanwhile, the Australian Open is all set to kick off on January 18th, with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner as heavy favourites, while Djokovic attempts to extend his slam titles to 25. He arrived in the country on Monday and had a training session with Jiri Lehecka ahead of his clash with Medvedev.
