The World No.1 and top seed Italian Tennis player, Jannik Sinner will be taking on the 25th-seeded Jack Draper in the Semi-final of the ongoing US Open 2024. The match will be played at the Arthur Ashe Stadium on 7th September, Saturday at 12:30 AM IST.

The advantage is in the Brit's hand as they have met only once before this duel which was in the first round of the Queen's Club Championships in 2021 where Draper defeated Sinner 7-6(6), 7-6(2).

Sinner played his round match against the American Mackenzie McDonald. The Italian lost the first set but came back to defeat McDonald 2-6, 6-2, 6-1, 6-2. Sinner then defeated Alex Michelsen in the second round in straight sets 6-4, 6-0, 6-2.

The Australian Christopher O'Connell lost the third-round match against the 23-year-old in straight sets 6-1, 6-4, 6-2. It was then the turn of the American Tommy Paul who lost the fourth round match 7-6(3), 7-6(5), 6-1).

Sinner then took on Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-final tie where the Italian lost the second set but showed courage to defeat the Russian 6-2, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4.

Journey of Jack Draper in US Open 2024

Draper started his campaign with a win over the Chinese Zhang Zhizhen in straight sets 6-3, 6-0, 4-0 due to a walkover. In the second round, Draper got the best of Facundo Díaz Acosta as the Argentine lost the match in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-2.

The third round saw the Dutch Botic van de Zandschulp lose to Draper in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. The fourth round match was against Tomas Machac, as the Czech player lost the match 6-3, 6-1, 6-2. The latest player to be handed a defeat by the Draper was the Australian Alex de Minaur as he lost the quarter-final match 6-3, 7-5, 6-2.
