With a victory over Sebastian Korda in straight sets at the Miami Open, Novak Djokovic accomplished yet another monumental milestone. At 37, the Serbian has become the oldest player to reach an ATP Masters 1000 semifinal. He overtook his former rival Roger Federer in the process.

Novak Djokovic Beaks The Record of Roger Federer
Djokovic attained the mark at 37 years and ten months, whereas Federer conquered the record at 37 years and seven months. The win meant a huge deal for the 24-time Grand Slam champion and he could not hide the excitement about it. The emotions were visible on his face as he roared alongside his coach Andy Murray.
After enduring a string of disappointments in the form of early exits following the Australian Open 2025, Novak Djokovic has found success at the Miami Open. Djokovic is in the twilight phase of his career and is chasing the elusive 25th Grand Slam title. He came close to attaining it on a couple of occasions but suffered a heartbreak in the end.

Murray-Djokovic Partnership Flourishing
Eventually, Djokovic teamed up with one of his greatest rivals, Andy Murray. The two have had several memorable encounters on the court that were formidable competitors in their peak years. Subsequently, Murray retired and joined the corner of Djokovic, a sight nobody would have imagined a decade ago.
The initial phase of the Djokovic-Murray partnership has garnered some success. Djokovic reached the semi-final of the Australian Open 2025 with Murray backing him as a coach. He showcased exceptional tennis in the tournament he had won 10 times before and was on course to take home the title again but got injured at the most crucial juncture. Following the culmination of AO 25, the two extended the partnership and now Murray is certain to remain in Djokovic's corner at least till the French Open and may even stay till Wimbledon 2025 and longer.
