India's star tennis player Rohan Bopanna and his Australian doubles partner Matthew Ebden lost to the top-seeded Dutch and British pair of Wesley Koolhof and Neil Skupsky in the semi-finals of the Wimbledon Grand Slam on Thursday, July 13. The pair of Koolhof and Skupsky defeated the pair of Bopanna and Ebden 7–5 and 6–4 in straight sets in what turned out to be a one-sided affair. With this, Bopanna reached his third Wimbledon semi-final, and first after eight years, but ended in this stage once again
Bopanna could not win a single break-point
The pair of Koolhof and Skupski kept the pressure on Bopanna and Ebden from the start of their tie. Bopanna had to face a 5-7 defeat in the first set. After this, the pair were unable to compete at the same level and were defeated 4-6 in the second set. With this, the 43-year-old Bopanna's dream of winning the doubles title at Wimbledon was shattered.
Bopanna reached the men's doubles semi-finals at Wimbledon for the third time and the first time after eight years. During their semifinal clash, the pair earned 77 per cent points on their serve, while Koolhof and Skupsky won 82 per cent points on their serve.
Koolhoff and Skupski won two break points out of two, and in response, the pair of Bopanna could not win a single break point.

Talking about Bopanna's career, he played in the men's doubles event for the first time in 2006. He reached Wimbledon for the third time after 2013 and 2015. However, all three times he had to face defeat in the semi-finals and could not win. At the same time, in the quarter-finals, the pair of Bopanna and Ebden defeated the pair of Tallon Grixpur and Bart Stevens 6-7, 7-5, 6-2 after a tough fight and made it to the semi-finals. But now the journey of both has come to an end.
