John Cena has been accused of using his backstage pull for his own good. The 17-time world champion is on his retirement tour, and fans have shown their respect for his massive contributions to the business.
Over the course of his career, Cena has earned enormous amounts of fame and respect. But there have been several instances where he has been accused of using his star power to get his way during his stint in WWE.
One such infamous incident is the 2010 Nexus storyline, where the Last Real Champion was blamed for changing the original ending. The former Nexus member Davis Otunga recently levied another accusation at the 17-time WWE World Champion.
In a conversation with Muscle Memory podcast, the former WWE Tag Team champion was questioned whether there was any kind of tension between the Nexus members and Cena after the SummerSlam fight.
"Always. Are you kidding me? Yeah, of course," Otunga said.
He also blamed the WWE legend for the Nexus documentary never releasing, saying that he had a lot of pull there.
"Hey, why do you think they never brought the Nexus back? Why do you think they never released the Nexus documentary? John Cena does have a lot of pull there," he added.
Earlier, during an appearance on TMZ Sports' Inside the Ring, Otunga said that Nexus was supposed to win the SummerSlam tag team match until Cena changed the finish of the fight.
