Team India will play a three-match ODI series against Australia before Women's World Cup kicks off

The Indian women's cricket team is kicking off its preparations for the Women's World Cup 2025 with a camp in Vizag starting August 25. The camp, which is an expansion of a previous one, will include not only the 15-player squad but also six reserves. According to a report from Cricbuzz, the team will also play two intra-squad games before their three-match ODI series against Australia, which begins on September 14 in Mullanpur.

The camp will be a crucial opportunity for the squad to get into form ahead of the World Cup. It will also allow them to familiarise themselves with the conditions at the Vizag venue, where they are scheduled to play two of their World Cup matches, one against South Africa on October 9 and another against Australia on October 12. This will be the first time the team plays there since 2014. Meanwhile, Radha Yadav, who is currently in Australia for the A series, is expected to join the camp after her series concludes on August 24.

The Indian women's cricket team's camp could potentially involve the India A squad at a later stage, as many of its players are currently participating in an unofficial Test against Australia A. The India A team is set to play its first official World Cup warm-up game against New Zealand at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, the teams from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa will be based in the co-host city of Colombo, where they will play both of their warm-up matches. Radha Yadav, who is currently leading the India A team in a red-ball match in Brisbane, is expected to join the main squad's camp after her game concludes on August 24. She will fly directly from Australia to the camp's location.
