Reddy had similar issue in Afghanistan ODI series too

Reddy had missed the second ODI of the series against Afghanistan due to a sore left thigh as well. However, he returned for the third ODI and bowled six overs, conceding 42 runs. He did not need to bat as India won by nine wickets to complete series cleansweep.

Setback for India’s ODI plans too

Reddy has added extra pace, which was on display in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. He was looked at Hardik Pandya’s backup for the ODI World Cup 2027. Hence, the injury is not just a setback for the 23-year-old all-rounder but India’s plans for the next year’s marquee event in South Africa.
