In a series of shocking events, Rishabh Pant stayed off the field during the closing moments of Day 2 of India's second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo, with Dhruv Jurel taking over the wicket keeping duties. Jurel later revealed that Pant was having pain in his right shoulder, having already battled a left wrist issue that led hum retire hurt on the opening day. Despite facing injury concerns, Pant came back to bat and played an attacking knock of 63 runs as India declared their first innings at a commanding 503/9. Jurel then donned the gloves when Sri Lanka started their first innings.
Injury concern for Rishabh Pant?
While appearing at the post day press conference, Jurel revealed that Pant was having a discomfort in his right shoulder which forced him to stay off the field. Towards the end, Jurel expressed hope that Pant could return to the field on Day 3 of the game.

"He (Pant) got hurt on his right shoulder. Physio is monitoring him. Today, I kept wickets because he had pain in his right shoulder. Hopefully, he'll be fine tomorrow," said Jurel.
Rain interrupts play
India have tightened their grip on the second Test against Sri Lanka after showcasing a dominant display on Day 2. After Devdutt Padikkal's century, Dhruv Jurel also reached three figures as the visitors piled up 503/9 before declaring their first innings. India's bowlers then clinched two scalps before the end of day's play, reducing Sri Lanka to just eight runs and leaving the hosts facing a huge 495-run deficit.
Rain interrupted the play on Day 2 in Colombo, preventing the full quota of overs from being completed. When play resumed for the final half an hour, Sri Lanka endured two setbacks as opener Lahiru Udara lost his wicket after scoring one before nightwatchman Prabath Jayasuriya fell for two.
Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar picked up a wicket each, while debutant Kamil Mishara stayed unbeaten on five. Heading into Day 3, Sri Lanka's main aim will be to avoid the follow-on before attempting to reach India's huge total.
