Rishabh Pant has made a remarkable return to the cricket field nearly one and a half years after a near-fatal road accident. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 marked his comeback tournament. About a year and a half following the accident in December 2022, when Pant stepped onto the field again, he was welcomed warmly by fans worldwide, with the entire stadium erupting in applause. Among the crowd were those who had gone above and beyond to help him stand on his feet again.
Upon making his first appearance on the field post-accident, Pant was visibly emotional, and so was his sister, Sakshi Pant, who was immensely proud of her brother.
The siblings, who once fought over trivial matters in childhood, now stand as each other's support. Sakshi has been a pillar of strength for her brother, fully aware that the journey isn't easy for him, yet never letting his spirit wane.
Rishabh never called his sister 'Didi'
Despite being two years older than Rishabh, Sakshi always wished her brother would call her "Didi," a term for an elder sister in Hindi. Born on December 24, 1994, in Uttarakhand, Sakshi currently resides in London. She has worked with several prominent companies in England, earning recognition in her professional field. After completing her schooling in Dehradun, she obtained an MSc in Project Management from a university in England. Until 2019, Sakshi gained experience and skills in administration, teamwork, and customer satisfaction in India.
Sakshi's Journey
In 2020, Sakshi moved to London for further studies and worked as a consultant with Butlin, followed by positions at Belvoir Group and Welwyn Garden City. In June 2022, she joined Lister Hospital, and in 2023, she began working with the National Pharmacy Association. Earlier in the same year, Sakshi got engaged to her boyfriend.
The bond between Rishabh and Sakshi
Despite Sakshi's playful grievance about not being called "Didi," the bond between her and Rishabh is incredibly strong. In an interview, Sakshi spoke about their close relationship, sharing that both siblings loved Maggi. Despite their parents' rule of allowing junk food only on weekends, they would sneakily enjoy Maggi whenever their parents were away.
Sakshi is also a basketball enthusiast, having won many tournaments at the college level, and enjoys adventure activities.
