A day after Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) overseas opener Travis Head’s wife Jessica said that she has been facing abuse on social media after her husband’s verbal spat with Virat Kohli, Gujarat Titans (GT) overseas all-rounder Jason Holder has said that he has seen comments on his social media as well after the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Holder made the statement during a fun interaction with teammate Mohammed Siraj posted by the franchise ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 Qualifier 1 at Dharamsala’s HPCA Stadium on May 26.
“I've seen a lot of comments [on social media]. I guess the most recent comments after the RCB game, about the... I wouldn’t call it an altercation, but, my little thing with Virat,” Holder told Siraj on 'Lie Detector with DSP Siraj' show.
Holder’s low catch irks Kohli, RCB coach
GT went up against RCB at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on April 30. Holder took a stunning catch at deep square leg to take the catch and dismiss RCB skipper Rajat Patidar. RCB's Kohli, other players and head coach Andy Flower had a heated argument with the fourth umpire as they believed that Holder wasn't in control of the catch and the ball had touched the ground whilst in his hand.
Earlier in the game, Kohli was dismissed for a 13-ball 28 by Kagiso Rabada. RCB ended up getting bowled out for 155 in 19.2 overs despite using Venkatesh Iyer as impact player at no.9. Holder took a couple of catches and dismissed Jitesh Sharma, Romario Shepherd. In the run chase, he scored 12 runs from 10 deliveries. GT chased down the target with six wickets in hand and 25 balls to spare.
When Holder dismissed Kohli last month
GT and RCB have locked horns twice at the league stage already. He had dismissed Kohli for a 44-ball 81 in a losing cause at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on April 24. RCB chased down the target of 206 with five wickets in hand and seven balls to spare.
RCB and GT finish in top 2
RCB and GT ended up with 18 points each at the league stage. RCB had a better net run rate (NRR) and finished at the top of the points table, followed by GT and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
