LSG's star pacer to miss first few games.

One of the worst-hit teams in terms of injuries is the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who are worried about the fitness of its star pacers. Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan's fitness is a topic of concern, and Mayank Yadav is expected to miss the start of the 2025 Indian Premier League. Mayank and Mohsin were kept by LSG prior to the IPL 2025 mega-auction.

Akash Deep to miss first few games

According to the Times of India report, Akash Deep is also having problems and is unlikely to be resolved anytime soon. The right-arm bowler missed the fifth Test of the series after suffering an injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Akash Deep was purchased by LSG for Rs 8 crore after making significant investments in him. His starting price was Rs 1 crore. It is unclear how many of LSG's pacers will be available for the opening match against the Delhi Capitals on March 24. The loss of key pacers is a major setback for the team.

Rishabh Pant to lead LSG

Rishabh Pant is the new captain of LSG. The wicketkeeper-batter paid an enormous Rs 27 crore to join the team. Rishabh led the Delhi Capitals in the 2021, 2022, and 2024 Indian Premier League. During the IPL 2025 mega-auction, Rishabh was much sought after. DC utilized their Right to Match card against him in an attempt to re-sign him. However, they fell short of LSG's Rs 27 crore bid.

Rishabh became the most expensive player in IPL history, surpassing the mark held by Shreyas Iyer. Iyer, who cost Rs 26.75 crore to join Punjab Kings. DC, headed by Rishabh, was unable to advance to the IPL final. Rishabh will have a difficult job at the new team because LSG has never participated in an IPL final. Under KL Rahul's leadership, LSG advanced to the IPL 2022 and 2023 playoffs. They were eliminated from the IPL 2024 league stage.
