Delhi Capitals vice-captain Faf du Plessis and his South Africa teammate Tristan Stubbs have joined the squad ahead of their upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Gujarat Titans which is scheduled to take place on May 17 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Both Du Plessis and Stubbs travelled back as the tournament was suspended due to India-Pakistan border tensions. Du Plessis will be available for the rest of the season, and Stubbs will only be available till May 26 due to national duties. Stubbs has been named in South Africa's squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) final, which is scheduled to take place from June 11 to 15 at the iconic Lord's Stadium.

"JSW and GMR co-owned franchise Delhi Capitals on Saturday confirmed that Vice-captain Faf du Plessis and teammate Tristan Stubbs have rejoined the team ahead of the resumption of IPL 2025" said DC in a release.

DC also confirmed that Australia speedster Mitchell Starc and South Africa all-rounder Donovan Ferreira will miss the rest of the tournament. Starc has also been named in Australia's squad for the WTC final, and he decided to practice for the red ball assignment.
