Mumbai Indians beat Gujarat Titans by 20 runs in IPL 2025 eliminator.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 eliminator between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) was a high-voltage one. It led to speculations of rift between MI captain Hardik Pandya and GT skipper Shubman Gill as they had an awkward handshake snub at the coin toss. Then, Pandya celebrated Gill's wicket aggressively. Addressing the rumours on social media, Gill wrote a clarification dismissing them. Later, Pandya reacted to Gill's clarification as well.

"Nothing but love (Don't believe everything you see on the internet) @hardikpandya93," Gill wrote in an Instagram story with photos of the two smiling at the coin toss.

"Always Shubhu bhai," Pandya wrote as he shared Gill's story on his Instagram as well.

On May 30, Rohit Sharma's 50-ball 81 and other useful conditions helped MI post 228/5. Pandya contributed with an unbeaten nine-ball 22 cameo featuring three sixes. The MI skipper was wicketless and conceded 37 runs from three overs. On the other hand, Gill was dismissed cheaply by Trent Boult. He was dismissed for just one run in the massive run chase. GT ended up losing the match by 20 runs.

While MI gear up for the Qualifier 2 clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at GT's homeground, Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on June 1, Gill will leave for England in a few days. Gill has been named India's new Test captain. Before the Test series, he will travel to England to play a practice match for India A against England Lions startring June 6.
