Punjab Kings (PBKS) has suffered a huge blow after the speedster Lockie Ferguson had to quit bowling midway during his over in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Lockie came to bowl the sixth over but he was able to bowl only two deliveries before looking uncomfortable.
It seemed like the pacer had some issue in his left quad and after speaking to the physios, he eventually made his way off the field. The remainder of the over was bowled by Marcus Stoinis.
Coming back to the match, PBKS batters- led by Shreyas Iyer smashed 245 for six despite a four-wicket haul by Harshal Patel. Openers Priyansh Arya (36) and Prabhsimran Singh (42) provided a good start with a 66-run stand, It was skipper Iyer who stole the show with a hard-hitting knock of 82 off 36 balls, laced with six sixes and as many fours. He stitched a 73-run partnership off just 40 balls with Nehal Wadhera (22) to keep the momentum going.

PBKS star Prabhsimran set the tone early, hitting Mohammed Shami (0/75) for three boundaries, before Priyansh tore into Pat Cummins (0/40) with a six and two fours. The left-handed batter then smashed Shami for two back-to-back sixes and a four and Prabhsimran flicked another delivery for a maximum as Punjab raced to 50 in just three overs.
Coming back to the match, while chasing 245, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma smashed 171 runs in 12.2 overs. While writing this copy, Henrich Klassen joined Abhishek Sharma for the chase. Hyderabad needs 74 runs in 45 balls to win the clash.
