Chennai Super Kings (CSK) recently faced a huge blow as their regular captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After Gaikwad's injury, the Chennai-based franchise reappointed MS Dhoni as their captain for the ongoing season.

The news came as a shock to all the fans, and there were mixed reactions from fans. Some fans will be happy to see Dhoni back to leading the team and hopefully get them out of trouble, Some fans are worried since Gaikwad was one of the key batters for CSK in the tournament who had played some great knocks as well.

After MS Dhoni was appointed captain, there are rumors on social media that Ruturaj unfollowed the legendary wicketkeeper batter on Instagram. However, Sports Tak doesn't confirm anything. Fan shared a picture of Gaikwad’s Instagram account with letters MS typed above, and it turns out that the two-time World Champion skipper’s name was not there among the followers at all.

CSK are currently on their lowest as the franchise lost all their matches after winning the opener clash against Mumbai Indians (MI). MS Dhoni recently captained CSK in their sixth clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), but they again failed to win the clash. The five-time champions are currently ninth in the points table with two points.

CSK will now face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for their seventh clash of the tournament, which will take place on April 14 at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
