Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star opener Abhishek Sharma mentioned legendary cricketer Yuvraj Singh and Mumbai Indians star Suryakumar Yadav after smashing his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) century while playing against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Abhishek scored 141 runs off 55 balls and shared a 171-run partnership with destructive batter Travis Head while chasing 246 runs against PBKS that helped the SRH to register a dominating eight-wicket win. After SRH's victory, Abhishek said that he was thinking about breaking the losing streak.
Abhishek also thanked Yuvraj Singh and Suryakumar Yadav for their advice. He revealed that he was in touch with his mentor Yuvraj Singh and India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav
"We did not talk anything, we just wanted to express and play the natural game. This one is very special and I was thinking that I wanted to break the losing streak, it was very tough as a player and as a youngster, but the mood in the team was very good. Special mention to Yuvi (paaji), I have been talking to him and also thanks to Suryakumar Yadav as well. I have been in touch with him and he has been there for me" Abhishek Sharma told while receiving Player of the Match award.
After registering a dominating win against PBKS, SRH shifted upwards in the points table tally. The franchise was 10 before the clash, and they are currently on eighth on the points table.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will now face Mumbai Indians (MI) for their upcoming clash which is scheduled to take place on April 17 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
