With three losses and one no-result, PBKS now trails only Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who lead the table with 16 points from eleven games.
PBKS leapfrog to second spot in IPL 2025 points table
Royal Challengers Bengaluru continue to hold the top spot, having secured eight wins and suffered three losses, accompanied by a strong net run rate (NRR) of +0.482. While the Punjab Kings have also experienced only three defeats, their NRR of +0.376 places them slightly behind RCB in the standings.
Mumbai Indians currently occupy the third position with 14 points, having registered seven wins and four losses in their eleven matches. Notably, MI boast an impressive NRR of +1.274, which is the highest among all participating teams, providing them with a significant advantage should there be a tie in points later in the tournament.
Gujarat Titans are close behind in fourth place, also with 14 points from ten games, showcasing consistent performance and a solid NRR of +0.867. Delhi Capitals are currently in fifth position with 12 points from ten matches, keeping their hopes of a top-four finish alive.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who eked out a narrow one-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 5, are still in the playoff contention with 11 points from eleven matches but will require a strong performance in their remaining games. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) loss to Punjab Kings has impacted their playoff aspirations, leaving them with 10 points from eleven games and a negative NRR of -0.469, a factor that could prove critical in a closely contested race for the playoffs.
