R Ashwin’s hilarious observation during Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony
Tamil actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay officially took oath as Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister on Sunday after his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, made a sensational debut in the 2026 elections. Vijay’s party reportedly secured 108 seats before forming a coalition government alongside Congress.
While several notable personalities reacted to the massive political development, Ashwin grabbed the spotlight with his humorous social media post during the ceremony. The former Indian spinner noticed that one of the security personnel stationed at the venue bore an uncanny resemblance to CSK fast bowler Anshul Kamboj.
Ashwin immediately took to X (formerly Twitter) and joked that the pacer needed to rush back to Chepauk for Chennai Super Kings’ crucial IPL clash against Lucknow Super Giants.
"Duty always comes first, but on a must-win match day #CSKVLSG, it's a bit too much. It's a day game, get a cab & get to Chepauk ASAP, Anshul Kamboj. Big game," Ashwin posted on X (formerly Twitter).
The hilarious observation quickly gained traction online as fans joined Ashwin in comparing the security official’s appearance with the young CSK bowler. Several users flooded social media with memes and reactions, with many agreeing that the resemblance was surprisingly accurate.
