Kishan emerged as the standout performer for SRH, playing a fearless knock of 74 off just 31 deliveries. His aggressive approach, highlighted by 11 fours and 3 sixes, put the opposition under immense pressure from the start. Although he was eventually dismissed by Jofra Archer, the damage had already been done. He found excellent support in Abhishek Sharma, who continued his impressive run of form, contributing a rapid 57 runs off 29 balls, which included 11 fours and a six. Together, the pair orchestrated a dominant 132-run partnership that steered SRH toward a comfortable victory.

On the bowling front for the Rajasthan Royals, Jofra Archer and Brijesh Sharma were the bright spots, each claiming two wickets. Despite their efforts, they were ultimately unable to contain the SRH batting lineup on the night. Following this emphatic win, SRH has successfully climbed above Rajasthan Royals in the league table and have grabbed third spot in the standings.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's heroics go in vain

Earlier, Sooryavanshi delivered a masterclass at the crease, propelling RR to a formidable total of 228/6. Invited to bat first, the Royals began with sheer aggression. Sooryavanshi wasted no time, launching a massive assault on Praful Hinge in the very first over, hammering four sixes to collect 25 runs. The momentum persisted into the second over, where both Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal struck sixes off Pat Cummins, marking an intense start to the Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper’s first match of the season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad briefly managed to stem the flow in the third over when Eshan Malinga dismissed Jaiswal (10 off 8) with a clever slower delivery. Despite the early loss, Rajasthan maintained a high scoring rate. Sooryavanshi continued his dominance, reaching a blistering half-century in just 15 balls with a six off Sakib Hussain in the final over of the powerplay. By the end of the first six overs, the Royals were in a commanding position at 73/1.

Dhruv Jurel provided excellent stability and later shifted gears to support Sooryavanshi. In the 11th over, Jurel launched a massive 101-metre six off Malinga, following it up with a boundary. He went on to score a quick 51 off 25 balls—comprising eight fours and one six—before being dismissed by Nitish Kumar Reddy while attempting a pull shot.

Even after Jurel’s departure, Sooryavanshi remained relentless, storming to his second IPL century in a mere 36 balls by striking back-to-back sixes off Sakib Hussain in the 14th over. His spectacular innings eventually ended on the next ball when he was trapped LBW attempting a reverse scoop, finishing with 103 runs off 37 balls, decorated with 5 fours and 12 sixes. The Royals faced another hurdle in the 17th over when captain Riyan Parag was bowled by Cummins for just 7, continuing a lean patch of form. However, a late cameo from Donovan Ferreira (33 off 16) and a brief contribution from Shimron Hetmyer ensured the side comfortably crossed the 220-run threshold, which was easily overhauled by SRH in the end.
