Indian Premier League 2026 points table saw a big shift after Mumbai Indians lost by seven wickets to Punjab Kings. The defeat pushed Mumbai further down the table, while Punjab strengthened their position at the top.
With this win, Punjab Kings moved back to No. 1 and now have a one-point lead over the teams behind them. Mumbai Indians, however, are struggling near the bottom. They are currently second from last, with just two points from five matches.
Mumbai’s only win this season came in their opening game, which was something they had not managed in 13 years. But since then, things have gone downhill, as they have now lost four matches in a row. The only team below them is the Kolkata Knight Riders, who are still searching for their first win this season.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings are the only team that has not lost a match so far. Even so, they don’t have a bigger lead at the top because one of their matches against Kolkata Knight Riders was washed out, which meant both teams shared points.
