Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru are going through a red-hot form in the ongoing IPL 2026, sitting at second place in the points table. Amid the exceptional campaign, the Rajat Patidar-led side will don their iconic green jersey when they lock horns against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, April 18 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

What is special about RCB's green jerseys?

As a part of RCB's Green initiative, the green jerseys are manufactured from recycled material. The Bengaluru-based franchise kicked off this initiative in 2011 with a pledge to achieve sustainability.

As per an official statement, RCB is the only T20 franchise in the world to be 'carbon-neutral'. This displays their continuous efforts over the years to protect the environment.

RCB's CEO Rajesh Menon, explained the journey behind this achievement, saying that achieving 'carbon-neutral' status as a T20 team is an outcome of years of sustained effort.

"Achieving carbon-neutral status as a T20 franchise is the result of years of dedicated work. The green jerseys reflect this commitment, and we hope this initiative inspires our fans and stakeholders to embrace more responsible and sustainable practices," said Rajesh Menon.

 

 

RCB's amazing run in IPL 2026

The Rajat Patidar-led side has been enjoying a phenomenal run in the tournament so far with their amazing performances. The Bangalore-based franchise have managed to win four of their first five games, with their only loss coming against Rajasthan Royals, they sit second on the points table with eight points in hand.

DC's mixed form in IPL 2026

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals have had a mixed bag so far. After claiming two back-to-back wins, they picked up two straight losses and now sit at the fifth place on the points table.
