Gujarat Titans (GT) secured a dominating win in their last league-stage game of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. The Shubman Gill led-side claimed a whopping 89-run win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday, May 21 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Shubman Gill reflects on GT's winning momentum
With a dominating win over CSK, GT secured a playoff berth. After the game, GT skipper Shubman Gill expressed his happiness over reaching the playoffs with a massive win like this and noted the importance of having a positive momentum on their side before going to the fag end of the tournament.

"Yeah, very important, going into the playoffs, so very happy to go with the momentum that we have," said Shubman Gill after the win.
"It's just about adding that extra 5%, and luckily we got that in the Delhi game, and we haven't looked back since," added Shubman Gill.
Big change in points table
After demolishing the CSK batting line-up, GT finished their league stage on a high note, winning nine out of 14 matches with 18 points in hand. Currently, they are placed second in the standings at a net run rate of +0.695. It will be interesting to see if the Shubman Gill-led side can capitalise on their winning momentum.
Standing at the first place, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is already qualified with still a game left in their league-phase campaign. If RCB manage to win their next game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) then they will have 20 points on their back.
