In a heartfelt farewell, India wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan has announced his departure from Mumbai Indians (MI) after spending seven years with the franchise.
The 26-year-old wicketkeeper batter took his Instagram to express his gratitude to the MI management, teammates, and fans for their unwavering support throughout his journey.
"So many memories with all of you, so many moments of joy, happiness and growth. MI, Mumbai, and the paltan will always remain in my heart. I’ve grown as a person and a player with all of you by my side. We say goodbye with memories that will stay with me for life. Thank you to the management, coaches, the players I’ve played with and all you fans for always being in my corner" Ishan posted along with compilation video showcasing his memorable moments with the team.
Ishan who joined MI in 2018 was one of the main players for MI. He has played 89 IPL matches for the Mumbai-based franchise where he scored 2325 runs with a highest score of 99. He has a batting average of 29.80.
Ishan has been picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the upcoming edition of the tournament. Delhi Capitals, looking for a wicketkeeper-batter after Rishabh Pant wasn't retained, were in an intense bidding war with Punjab Kings before SRH joined the action late and got his services.
