Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have roped in Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) net bowler as replacement for their overseas batter Rovman Powell ahead of the dead rubber clash against Pat Cummins-led side on May 25 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

As earlier reported by Sports Tak, Powell is injured and was unlikely to join KKR squad for their remaining matches of the season. 

Shukla's T20 numbers under Patidar's captaincy

Shukla played under the leadership of Rajat Patidar in his Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy debut. In the previous season of India's premier domestic T20 competition, he claimed eight wickets from as many games at an average of 23.62. He conceded runs at 6.30 runs per over. Shuka played as net bowler for SRH

Shukla had played intra-squad games for SRH as well. He was their net bowler who turned a few heads. He got a few tips and tricks from SRH's spin-bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan and head coach Daniel Vettori. Powell gets limited opportunity at KKR

Powell had played just two games for KKR this season. He did not get to bat against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and was dismissed for five runs by Delhi Capitals (DC) left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc. The former West Indies T20I captain was roped in for his base price of Rs 1.50 crore in the mega auction.

KKR out of playoffs race 

KKR's away clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was abandoned due to incessant rain at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on May 17. KKR have been eliminated from the playoffs race. They are placed sixth on the points table with five wins from 13 games. Their two games were abandoned due to rain.
