Delhi Capitals (DC) secured their fourth win of the IPL 2026 season by defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets on Friday, May 1 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. DC pacer Kyle Jamieson was penalised by BCCI for an aggressive sendoff to RR opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, as the Kiwi pacer got too close while celebrating his wicket.
As an outcome, the 31-year-old pacer received a warning and one demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. Amid all of this, Kyle Jamison received much needed support from former MI pacer Mitchell McClenaghan.

While speaking on JioHotstar, McClenaghan noted the significance of Vaibhav's wicket, noting that he posed a serious danger to DC's bowling lineup. He added that dismissing him early likely triggered Kyle's aggressive celebration, labeling it a natural reaction.
"It was a big moment in the game, and you could see the emotion in that celebration. When you're up against a young batter who has been dominating bowlers throughout the tournament, getting his wicket early brings that natural reaction," said McClenaghan.
What actually happened?
The incident took place on the fourth ball of the second over, Vaibhav smashed Jamison for a boundary towards the long-off. On the very next delivery, the star NZ pacer bowled a low full toss. The southpaw was deep into the crease and took to dig it out. But, all he could manage was an under-edge. The ball hit the back pad before crashing into the stumps. The opener departed after scoring just four runs from two deliveries. RR lost two wickets for just 12 runs.
Delhi Capitals' position in points table
After winning against RR the Axar Patel-led side sit at the sixth place with eight points in hand after playing nine games in the ongoing IPL 2026 season, at a net run rate of -0.895. It will be interesting to see if DC can continue their positive momentum in the competition.
DC will lock horns against Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their upcoming IPL 2026 clash on May 5. The Delhi-based side will aim for revenge after the earlier loss at Chepauk.
