Lucknow Super Giants' Digvesh Rathi is on the verge of receiving an Indian Premier League suspension. Due to Rathi's 'receipt' celebration, the spinner has been punished in back-to-back Indian Premier League games against the Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings. Before LSG's game against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday, April 8, teammate spinner Shahbaz Ahmed expressed his wish that Rathi would not celebrate again.

"Priyansh Arya is his very good friend..he did it on a friendly note, but since he is on the verge of suspension, I hope he doesn't repeat it," Shahbaz Ahmed said ahead of the match.

This season, Digvesh Rathi has already received two fines for violating the Level 1 code of conduct. In addition to receiving three demerit points, he was fined 50% of his match fees. Rathi will be punished for one game in accordance with the IPL Code of Conduct if he receives four demerit points.

Rathi will need to exercise caution even in the forthcoming games and seasons because the demerit points are retained in the player's record for 36 months. In their fifth game of the season, LSG takes on KKR. To date, LSG has defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Mumbai Indians. With the game against KKR, they want to get some consistency.
