On Sunday, April 6, Mohammed Siraj took 4 for 17 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, joining Jasprit Bumrah in an elite IPL list. On Sunday, Siraj, who was playing at home, had a sensational spell that rocked the Hyderabad batting order. After dismissing Travis Head in the opening over, Siraj added Abhishek Sharma to his list of victims. Later, Siraj would enter to catch Aniket Verma in front of the stumps before cleaning up Simarjeet Singh to finish his task for the day. Siraj exceeded the 100-wicket milestone in the IPL with this performance. The 100th wicket taken by the GT pacer was Abhishek.

Siraj was able to join the select group of Indian pacers who have taken 100 wickets in the competition as a result. Jasprit Bumrah (165), Umesh Yadav (144), Sandeep Sharma (141), Harshal Patel (139), Mohit Sharma (133), Mohammed Shami (130), Ashish Nehra (106), Vinay Kumar (105), Zaheer Khan (102), Shardul Thakur (101), and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (183) were joined by Siraj. Since switching during the mega auction, Siraj has been in incredible form for GT. The Indian bowler is presently ranked second in the purple cap race after taking nine wickets in four games this season.

Siraj offered feedback on his performance, stating that he was having a great time and had spent the vacation working on his fitness.

"I am enjoying a lot. I worked a lot on my fitness, mental strength during the break and it's working out really well for me. Body is fresh and I am enjoying my bowling. 100% the saliva is helping us because in the death overs we are getting some reverse swing so if it nips back in a bit, I am certain that it's a wicket for me. Without saliva, it was easier for the batters to hit the ball."

To be honest, the wicket is a bit slow. I was attacking the stumps earlier on as the wicket was on the slower side. We are happy with the score but I feel they scored 10 runs more. Never mind, we will chase it down," said Siraj.

In the end, GT won the match by seven wickets after chasing down the score with 20 balls still remaining, riding on knocks from Washington Sundar and Shubman Gill. Sherfane Rutherford also played a good cameo knock.
