Punjab Kings (PBKS) take on Delhi Capitals (DC) as Faf Du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur on May 24. Axar Patel sat out of DC's playing XI yet again as Afghanistan's Sediqullah Atal walked into the fold as his replacement.
What did the captains say after the toss?
DC's stand-in captain Faf Du Plessis, after winning the toss, said:
"We will have a bowl. I think today it is 50-50. Just the make up of the side. We are playing an extra batter. It helps while chasing. It has been very frustrating. We started well. Then went on a roller coaster. We have played enough T20 cricket to understand. We played well in the last game for the first 17 overs. Then lost focus. We are playing for the fifth spot. We had our goals to get into top four."
PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer, after losing the toss, said:
"Defintely happy faces. I am not satisfied and content. We want to build momentum from here. Each and every individual is performing for the team. Job half done as of now. Important to stay in the present and seize every possible chance. Inglis and Stoinis come back into the side."

Pitch Report
Pitch number four is being used. 69 metres and 62 metres on the sides. The outfield is a beauty. There is some grass on the wicket. Not enough if you are a seamer. Just to keep it together because of the hot weather. The expectation is this will be a good pitch. It is going to be high scoring. Nice little wind blowing across and making things tolerable.
Head-to-Head
PBKS and DC have locked horns with each other 34 times so far in the IPL history. While Delhi have emerged victorious in 16 matches, PBKS have clinched wins on 17 occasion. Meanwhile, one match ended without a result.
