Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a comfortable win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash on Wednesday, May 13 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.
Ravi Shastri trolls Pakistan Super League
It was Virat Kohli's masterclass century which paved the way for RCB to seal another win in the hunt for playoff berth. Apart from the game, former India coach Ravi Shastri took a cheeky dig at Pakistan Super League (PSL), while he was doing commentary.
During the fourth over of the second innings, Kartik Tyagi dismissed Jacob Bethell off a rising bouncer that struck the opening batter's helmet before looping up for a simple catch. In the impact, Bethell's gold chain got snapped and fell onto the pitch without his notice.
When Devdutt Padikkal came out to bat, he saw the chain lying on the pitch, he picked it up and handed it over to the on-field umpire so it could be safely returned to his RCB teammate.
When the wholesome moment was taking place, Ravi Shastri playfully trolled Pakistan Super League (PSL) saying these things could not be seen in the neighbouring leagues.
"Padikkal returning Bethell’s gold chain. Things you will only see in IPL and not in neighbouring leagues," said Shastri during commentary.
Big feat for Virat Kohli in RCB vs KKR game
Star RCb opener Virat Kohli went on a record-breaking or extending spree on May 13 as he scored his ninth century of Indian Premier League (IPL) career. During his unbeaten 105, Kohli crossed the 14,000 run mark in T20 cricket, a rare feat. He took 409 innings to achieve the feat, becoming the quickest to complete 14,000 runs in the format (including T20Is, domestic T20s and franchise T20 cricket).
The previous record for fewest innings to 14,000 T20 runs belonged to Kohli's former teammate Chris Gayle. The former West Indies opener took 423 innings to complete 14,000 T20 runs.
