SRH has signed RS Ambrish as Mavi's replacement

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have officially named 18-year-old seam-bowling all-rounder RS Ambrish as a replacement for the injured Shivam Mavi for the remainder of the IPL 2026 season. Mavi, who joined the franchise at his base price of Rs 75 Lakh during the recent auction, was forced to withdraw after being sidelined by a groin injury.

The newcomer, a right-arm medium pacer and left-handed batter, arrives with a burgeoning reputation following India's successful 2026 Under-19 World Cup campaign. The Tamil Nadu-born cricketer played a pivotal role in that title win, finishing as the team's joint-highest wicket-taker with 11 scalps.

By joining the SRH camp, the 2007-born Ambrish adds to a bowling battery that has leaned heavily on young talent this year. He joins fellow youngsters Praful Hinge (24) and Sakib Hussain (21), both of whom have performed admirably to help propel the team up the standings.

Currently, SRH are in excellent form, sitting in third place with 12 points after a dominant five-match winning streak. They will look to maintain this momentum in their next fixture as they host the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 3.
