RR will face RCB for their upcoming IPL 2025 clash.

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson believes that the bowlers conceded 15-20 extra runs against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in their fifth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Shubman Gill-led GT defeated RR by 58 runs to register their fourth consecutive win of the 18th edition of the cash-rich league.

Sanju, who scored 41 off 28, believes that RR lost the clash when Prasidh Krishna picked his wicket in the 13th over while chasing 217 runs against GT.

Around 15-20 runs too many in the bowling. Whenever we wanted to carry the momentum we lost wickets, when me and Hetmyer were batting it was still chaseable but my wicket changed the game. There was some purchase, the way Jofra bowled and picked Gill's wicket.. But the way we bowled at the death, we need to look at it in the meeting tomorrow and come back better. When you lose games we also think should we have chased or batted first, we were expecting these conditions, this was a really good wicket, we want to respect the conditions and want to be a team who can win games while chasing.

Coming back to the clash, GT star Sai Sudharsan’s classy fifty followed by a collective bowling effort helped GT to a commanding 58-run win over RR.

Sudharsan smashed 82 off 53, with explosive cameos from Jos Buttler (36), Shahrukh Khan (36), and Rahul Tewatia (24) propelled GT to a formidable 217/6.

While chasing, RR failed to build a partnership as GT bowlers kept chipping away, striking at regular intervals to keep Rajasthan on the back foot despite fighting knocks from Shimron Hetmyer (52) and skipper Sanju Samson (41). RR will now face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the 28th match of the IPL 2025, which will take place at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
