Virat Kohli cracked a blistering 42-ball 70

Virat Kohli's batting wizardry was once again on display during IPL 2025 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on April 24. As RCB seek their first win of the IPL 2025 season on their home turf, all eyes were on batting juggernaut Virat Kohli. Put to bat first Kohli set the tone for RCB's batting and cracked a blazing 42-ball 70 to become the first-ever play to bag a mighty milestone.

Virat Kohli has now amassed a staggering 3500 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru across all T20 matches, accomplishing this milestone in 105 innings. This achievement makes him the first cricketer in the world to score 3500 runs at a single venue in the T20 format. Prior to this game, he already held the record for the most T20 runs scored at a single ground, and with this latest milestone, he has further solidified his position at the top.

Players with the most T20 runs at a single venue:

3500 - Virat Kohli at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru (105)
3373 - Mushfiqur Rahim at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Mirpur (136)
3253 - James Vince at Rose Bowl, Southampton (106)
3241 - Alex Hales at Trent Bridge, Nottingham (109)
3238 - Tamim Iqbal at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Mirpur (110)

Kohli has been in phenomenal touch for RCB in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. His consistent run-scoring has seen him accumulate 376 runs so far in the tournament, placing him third in the race for the Orange Cap. Notably, he is also the highest run-scorer for the RCB franchise this season.

Kohli has already registered his fifth half-century of the season, proving his remarkable consistency. He now shares the record of having the most 50-plus scores this season with Sai Sudharsan of the Gujarat Titans. Kohli's impressive innings eventually came to an end after he scored a well-crafted 70 runs off 42 deliveries, an innings that included eight boundaries and two towering sixes.

It was due to Kohli's 70-run knock and Devdutt Padikkal's 27-ball 50 RCB ended up posting a daunting total of 205/5.
