MS Dhoni to play IPL 2026.

MS Dhoni's last cricketing outing came in IPL 2025.

India cricket legend MS Dhoni made a rare public appearance at Bollywood star Salman Khan’s 60th birthday party in Panvel, Maharashtra. Known for keeping a low profile, Dhoni, one of cricket’s most successful captains, is seldom seen in public.

He attended the party with his wife, Sakshi and daughter Ziva. The gathering was reportedly a private affair, attended by close family and a few friends.

Videos of Dhoni arriving and leaving the party quickly went viral, with fans sharing their excitement and commenting on his friendship with Salman. Here's the clip.

Dhohi who already retired from all forms of international cricket, will be seen featuring for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 19th edition of the tournament.

MS Dhoni's last IPL outing

Notably, Dhoni, who was picked by the five-time champions CSK in the mega auction before IPL 2025, captained the side after their regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad ruled out of the tournament due to an elbow injury. However, CSK had a forgetful outing and ended last in the points table with 10 losses and four wins in 14 outings. Dhoni managed to score 196 runs with a highest score of 30 not-out.

Samson to feature for CSK in IPL 2026

However, ahead of the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league, the Chennai-based franchise got the services of Sanju Samson.

Sanju Samson has been officially traded from Rajasthan Royals (RR) to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a major IPL player swap deal just before the IPL 2026 retention deadline in November 2025, with CSK sending star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and English player Sam Curran to RR in exchange for Samson, who will play for CSK at his existing INR 18 crore fee.
